The Clinton County Snack Pack Program is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that provides weekend food to children throughout Clinton County. The food for this program is packed and stored at Trenton FUMC.
There are 1,070 children in Clinton County that are food insecure. That is 13.4% or 1 in 7 kids that don’t always have enough food to eat. We believe that is unacceptable! This program started in December 2014 providing food to 17 kids each weekend in 1 school district. 6 years later the program has grown and is currently providing food to 231 kids in 13 different Clinton county school districts. Each weekend snack pack bag contains enough food for breakfast and lunch for Saturday and Sunday. Principals decide which kids are in need of extra food. Each week bags are dropped off by volunteers and given to the students on Friday to take home over the weekend. This is a way for us to get the food directly into the children’s hands to help bridge the food gap over the weekend. Food that the kids will eat and can prepare themselves. It cost $15 per month or $135 to sponsor 1 child for the school year. To make a donation write your check to Clinton County Snack Pack Program and send to Trenton FUMC, 3324 Old US Hwy 50, Trenton IL 62293. All donations go directly toward food purchases.
